Officer Tases 76 Year Old South Carolina woman |
||
Commentstasers are to be used in lieu of firearms - you may not believe that a 76 year old anything can be threatening, but you have no idea what it is like to be a police officer, someone who is to uphold the law and see that it is followed, no matter how ludicrous - you may think it wrong what happened in this article, but if someone is being beligerent, defying orders and resisting, those are grounds for taser use - my oponion - so shoot me! What did the old lady do to warrant being Tased, other than show up when she wasn't supposed too? Why was there a use of force? Sat Jun 24, 2006 8:37 am MST by Tony

Tasers are supposed to be a less lethal way of subduing somebody; an alternative to shooting them. I can't imagine it being very difficult to subdue a 76 old woman and I'm sure that the officers involved did not feel threatened. Fri Mar 10, 2006 7:14 am MST by Jeff
These things have been causing controversy all over the place. A kid was tasered in Florida recently. But, in general, they seem to work and are better than guns to limit the damage done. Wed Mar 1, 2006 8:14 am MST by Flowers
